Counseling
Domestic violence survivors enter Angel Step Inn Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter to get away from a violent intimate partner. In addition to domestic violence, sixty percent of our residents are also childhood and/or adult sexual assault survivors. Thirty five percent suffer from a diagnosed mental illness. Many of our survivors are seeking shelter with their children who have also been traumatized by witnessing violence and parental substance abuse in the home. Angel Step Inn offers crisis counseling with trained domestic violence advocates. Angel Step Inn domestic violence advocates are onsite 24-hours a day to assist families with adjusting to life in our shelter and to offer crisis counseling when needed.
